Judith Muir

Judith Muir:

With an historical family interest in Scottish traditional music, Judith started playing in a family band with her father, Alan, and brother, Ian, in the early 1980s.

After briefly joining Craigellachie in the late 1980s, Judith and her brother left and formed Sound Company with Chris Oxtoby. For the following 15 years she played piano/bass with Sound Company, and experience with this band took her all over the UK and Europe, including visits to the Shetland Fiddle and Accordion Festival and Sidmouth International Folk Festival. Sound Company also made 3 dance music recordings with copies going as far a-field as Australia, Japan and Canada.

Following sound Company’s retirement in 2003, Judith rejoined Craigellachie in 2004.

Judith is a retired Paralegal and interests away from music include travel, gardening, walking and the great apes.
